Facilities Management
“FM is a discipline which offers the potential to add real value to any organisation, it should not be seen merely as a range of non-core service activities to be managed as economically as possible”
BIFM 2003
Facilities Management by Norse gives organisations the confidence to concentrate on core business, safe in the knowledge that they will have their premises, plant, equipment or services available and fully functional, whenever they need them.
By working together with clients a complete understanding of their business objectives and organisational culture is realised. A comprehensive FM strategy, tailored to suit the client’s exact requirements in relation to its current and future core business objectives, is then developed along with a ‘mission statement’ for the FM team.

Such strategy is based on:
i) Analysis - all pertinent facts are considered, especially the client’s own mission statement and objectives
ii) Solution - criteria for judging options are defined and evaluated against the objectives of the client to produce the strategy
iii) Implementation – the initial strategic stages are completed and an implementation plan is established based on the key elements of procurement, mobilisation, training, communication, review and feedback.
As part of the initial process Norse assesses all current support service operations – in-house and outsourced across all areas – maintenance (planned and reactive), cleaning, security, waste management, grounds works, catering, post etc to gather a complete picture of these services in terms of meeting agreed standards and providing a value for money service.
Organisation structure would also be assessed, reviewing strengths and weaknesses of existing personnel and strengthening areas of weakness and training shortfalls.
Clients include NHS Trusts, Fire and Rescue services and local authorities, all of whom value the flexibility and openness that Norse brings to FM operations. |
